Activision Confirms Sledgehammer Games to Become COD Developer in 2021
After the last few weeks filled with increasingly convincing rumors, Activision today has officially announced that the next Call of Duty or more precisely this year will be redeveloped by Sledgehammer Games - the studio that previously developed Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and WW2.
The confirmation was conveyed through this year's quarterly income report by the president and COO Dan Alegre.
“We are very excited for the premium release of Call of Duty this year. Development will be led by Sledgehammer Games. The game is looking good at the moment and is pursuing a fall [2021] release. ”
With how successful Call of Duty: Warzone by Raven Software and Infinity Ward, Call of Duty this year will be built without forgetting the existence of the battle-royale game and just like Cold War, the latest Sledgehammer game will be integrated with the Warzone ecosystem.
No details have yet been shared by Activision regarding COD 2021 but based on rumors that have been circulating over the last few weeks, the game will be set in World War 2 whether it will be based on history or will be an alternative history like the modern Wolfenstein sero. The project is given the initial name "Vanguard" and the game will contain the same content as most of the existing COD series namely single-player, multiplayer and co-op modes.
Meanwhile, Sledgehammer seems relieved to see the publisher finally announcing that they are back working on the COD series after having "disappeared" for 3 years.
That's the discussion about the COD game. Hopefully this is useful and don't forget to keep visiting loverzcorner.blogspot.com to read other interesting articles. Thank you.
