Insomniac Games Share More Details of Its New Main Character - Rivet

Through the new gameplay trailer, Insomniac Games finally reveals that "Rivet" is the name of the new female Lombax character in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Shortly after that, the California-based developer shared more information about Rivet.

Previously, Insomniac had announced that Jennifer Hale - voice actor for many games and films will voice the voice of Rivet.

Through its official Twitter account, Insomniac revealed that Sargasso was the planet from which Rivet was born. For those of you who are foreign, Sargasso first appeared in Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction and became one of the planets that Ratchet and Clank visited in the first gameplay trailer of Rift Apart. Then, the Rivet is also armed with a hammer made of ultra-light teratannium metal and is designed to destroy rather than fix things.

 

In addition to information about the main weapon and hometown of Rivet, Insomniac also shared information about their goals and motivations. Rivet is described as a warrior who uses his skills to fight tyrannical powers like Nefarious while keeping the Omniverse safe. But from the latest gameplay trailer, it appears that it comes from a dimension where Nefarious always wins.

In other words, before meeting Ratchet, Rivet always lost battles and that is one of the things that explains his determination as well as his stubbornness. The rivets themselves have so far attracted the attention of many fans of the Ratchet and Clank series.

It's interesting to see more of the backstory of the Lombax woman with that bionic arm.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is scheduled to launch on June 11, 2021 exclusively for the PS5.
