Almost 8 Years into a Career, Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Designer Leave CDPR

Andrzej Zawadzk, the main gameplay designer of Cyberpunk 2077, announced that he is leaving CD Projekt Red after 8 years of working at the Polish studio.

Zawadzki has not stated his reason for leaving CDPR and he is not sure where to go next after leaving the studio that raised him, but one thing is certain is that he is no longer involved in the patches and further expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 that the studio is currently busy working on.

Zawadzki began his career at CD Projekt Red as a QA Tester where he was assigned during the development of The Witcher 3 and both of its expansions. He was promoted to Junior Gameplay Designer in 2016 and started the Cyberpunk 2077 project.During development, Zawadzki has taken on several other roles ranging from RPG Coordinator to finally becoming lead gameplay designer in March 2020.

Zawadzki became one of the developers who voiced his opinion when CDPR was attacked and was also flooded with death threats by netizens. On Twitter he said that the developers at CDPR were "human like you" and the behavior of netizens was "totally unacceptable and very wrong."

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently being improved upon after receiving a series of bad press after its release. Patch 1.2 was supposed to release earlier this month but was delayed due to the cyber attack they faced a few weeks ago.
